Conjuring #3 features a live improvisation by Nkisi, Cameron Picton, Loraine James and Valentina Magaletti.\\n\\nConjuring is a monthly live music event series curated by Studio Njoku, and presented by Club Cheek.\\n\\nConjuring brings together leading experimental musicians for live, collaborative, improvised performances. The project foregrounds musical dialogue, community building and spiritual expression.\\n\\nEach edition features a unique lineup of guest musicians performing a one-time live improvisation around a central motif developed by Tony Njoku.\\n\\nNkisi produces intense, powerful club tracks equally influenced by African polyrhythms, hardcore techno, and ’70s Italian horror films. The London-based musician and visual artist is one of the co-founders of NON Worldwide, a collective of experimental artists from across the African diaspora. Gravitating toward the more aggressive side of dance music, yet maintaining a heavy emotional factor as well as a sense of dreaminess.\\n\\nValentina Magaletti is a queer drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist who treats percussion as a political and poetic instrument—an unruly body that refuses straight lines, fixed identities, and normative rhythms. Her work dismantles the boundaries between noise, ritual, and music, transforming ceramics, found objects, and skin-based textures into tools for resistance and queer world-building.\\n\\nLoraine James grew up in Enfield, North London. Her musical approach displays voracious musical curiosity and an exciting, peerless approach to making music. She also releases under her ambient-adjacent alias, Whatever The Weather. In contrast to her percussive club music sensibilities, with WTW she uses keyboard improvisations, stuttering production, and vocal experimentation to shape atmosphere, mood, and tone.\\n\\nCameron Picton is a guitarist and bassist who draws on American Primitivist, Brazilian and experimental musical forms. Previously of London prog group Black Midi, Picton is currently working on a new project, My New Band Believe, after releasing two excellent solo albums as Camera Picture.
