About this event

You’re cordially invited to our slaggy Queer Prom on Saturday 16th May. \\n\\nSchool’s out. Exams are over. Before we start our next big life adventures, it’s time for a big hurrah at Prom! Come with your friends, solo, or with fellow slags, to the Queer Prom event of the year at our FLINTA focused sexy, silly club night. With our usual mix of banging lineup, cute crafts, slaggy looks and community vibes. \\n\\n\\nThe Vibes\\nThink gowns, dresses, suits, corsages, end of school, alcoholic punch, dances, sashes, prom queen, prom king, group dances, yearbooks, braces, spring flings, Carrie, Romy & Michelle, Mean Girls, Pretty in Pink, Jennifer’s Body, colours, patterns, big hair, more is more. Think school band geeks, and the arty cliques. Think voted the school slag, or voted the school hag. Wearing what you couldn’t or wearing what you did!\\n\\nIt’s time to live out that true Prom Night fantasy Slagland style and bring it to the ball. Whether it’s slow dancing to your favourite banger, drinking the punch, getting lucky on Prom Night or winning Homecumming Queen, the night is yours to make.\\n\\nIt will be a Prom Night to remember!\\n\\nDress Code\\nThink whatever Queer Prom means to you: colourful, loud, ball gowns, suits, less-is-more prom attire. A chance to reclaim our school dance and wear what our slaggy selves always dreamt of. Or a chance to be someone else entirely for the night – we’re all going to different colleges next year anyway! While dressing in the theme isn’t mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. \\n\\nFor our dress code, it isn’t about how much skin you show or buying new things for the event. But we operate a no effort, no entry policy. We will have someone on the door doing a vibe check and we reserve the right to refuse admission. This is because we want to foster an atmosphere where people can feel free to dress as slaggy or extravagantly as they like and feel comfortable doing so. There are multiple toilets and a cloak room if you need to change once inside the venue. You may be asked to show you have an outfit with you if attending in plain clothes on the door.\\n\\n\\nAccessibility\\nThis is a loft space. The main dance-floor and toilets are accessible with a lift, but not a fully accessible toilet. There are steps up to the chillout area and other toilets. The smoking area is down the lift with a further three steps down to ground level.\\n\\n\\nWelfare\\nWe are working with Safe Only Ltd to provide safeguarding on the night, and all toilets are gender-neutral.\\nWe do our best to make Slagland as safe a space as possible. If any slag in attendance experiences anything that makes them feel in any way strange or uncomfortable, please please please come and speak to us. Nothing is too small to talk about, and there will never be any judgement. The Slagland team will all be wearing pink armbands, and Safe Only will be wearing high vis. \\n\\nPlease note a ticket doesn’t guarantee entry and we will have slags on the door to ensure everyone attending is here for the queer FLINTA focused ethos of Slagland.\\n\\nStr8 cis men take note: this is not ur space to pick up slags. All forms of identity and expression are welcome at Slagland, but please ask yourself why you're attending and reflect on the space you're taking up. We will not tolerate any creepiness from anyone in attendance.\\n \\n\\nPlease ensure you read our Party Policy before attendance. This will also be emailed to you.\\n\\n\\n\\nFAQs:\\nWhat does it mean to be a slag?\\nIt’s freeing, liberating and hilarious. You don’t need to have lots of sex. It’s about what’s in your heart.\\n\\nWho can come?\\nWe’re a FLINTA-first queer party but all slags are welcome. Think about why you’re coming and be conscious of the space you’re in. Please read our party policy before attending.\\n\\nWhat’s the tunes?\\nQueer electronic slagthems! Techno, tech house, bass, garage, DnB, classic queer bangers... An eclectic hot mix to get you slags on the dance floor. \\n\\nIs it a play party?\\nWe aren’t a play/ sex party - but expect playfulness and sexiness!! We’re here to boogie and get hot. What happens after is ur business, boo.\\n\\nWhen's last entry?\\n02:00 bby - so we can all boog too! \\n\\nWhat if I can't afford a ticket?\\nTimes r hard. We have a number of tickets set aside for low-income Slags. DM us to find out more.
